Zoe out, then back in the MasterChef kitchen
ZOE Konikkos didn't have time for much of a homecoming after her MasterChef exit.
The 32-year-old sales manager was eliminated in Monday's pressure test but will return to the show tonight, along with the 11 other eliminated Top 24 contestants, to cook for spot back in the reality cooking competition.
"It's been a rollercoaster. I've just come out and got a little taste of back home only to have to go back and cook again," she told APN.
"I've just come out so my mind is still in the game and I still remember where everything is in the kitchen. It could go either way.
"The best thing for me is to stay positive and work my butt off in this second-chance cook."
She believes Noosa coffee roaster Matt Sinclair is the show's strongest contender.
"Matt's not only an amazing cook but he's the kind of person you want on your team or by your side," she said.
"He's always honest with everyone, which is such a good trait to have.
"I'd love to see him take the prize home, unless I get back in (laughs)."
Ms Konikkos has plans to launch a chocolate business called Off the Wagon and is developing a cookbook inspired by her grandmother.
"I have such a close bond with my grandmother," she said.
"She plays quite a monumental part in my life and my love of food stems from her.
"When you go out to eat people often say 'this isn't as good as my grandma's', so why not go right to the source?"
MasterChef continues Wednesday night at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
