“You’ve been robbed”: thieves leave note for home owners

BRAZEN thieves have robbed a home in Channon St sometime on Thursday, leaving the two storey, renovated residence completely ransacked.

The home owner Craig Warhurst said nearly every cupboard in the home had been opened and the contents emptied on to the floor.

"We are not sure how much has been stolen yet," Mr Warhurst said.

"With the place in such a mess we are not sure what's missing.

"So far we know we have lost sound system speakers and cheque books."

Mr Warhurst said it looked like the robbers were interrupted at some stage because they left a stack of laptops and gaming equipment in a pile downstairs.

To rub salt into the wound, the thief left a note for the owners, saying "you've been robbed" in the study.

"I was pretty angry when I got home, the place was trashed," he said.

"They even ate my ice cream.

"My biggest concern is the I can't find my grandfather's war medals or my dad's watch in the mess."

Police are investigating.
