Youths' crime spree ends in court

TWO juveniles did not apply for bail when they faced Maroochydore court for an alleged crime spree near Gympie on Tuesday.

Lawyers for the youths told Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday that the 15-year-olds planned to plead guilty to their charges.

One teen is charged with two burglaries, stealing two cars, evading a fare and possessing a weapon on June 1 at Chatsworth.

His case was adjourned to Gympie Children’s Court on June 10 when he intends to make a bail application.

The youth’s co-accused is charged with burglary, stealing a car, evading a fare, possessing a weapon, possessing suspected stolen property and unlicensed driving the same day.

His case was adjourned until June 22 at Maroochydore Children’s Court.

Both youths have been ordered to be detained in care until their next court appearance.
