Youth voices sought for precinct development

GYMPIE’S youth are being asked for their input for the new Youth Precinct, Regional Play Space and Public Amenities at a facilitated workshop being hosted on the afternoon of Monday July 25..

The Council is seeking advice, input, and ideas from both local youth and anyone else for whom the development’s facilities will be available to use.

The Youth Precinct is being designed with the help of with Victoria-based group Enlocus.

Specialising in landscape architecture and the development of skate parks, Enlocus focusses on letting their designs grow through community engagement.

Guests are not required to stay for the duration, with the council encouraging them to drop in or out as they see fit.

The precinct and play space will be located at Nelson Reserve.

With the development of the new Aquatic Centre on Tozer Park Rd the reserve will be undergoing redevelopment, with the council looking to incorporate the existing amenities as part of the plan to reinvigorate the area.

The event will be running at 32 Mellor St from 4.30pm-6pm.
