You're so U.G.L.Y. you're beautiful

LEANNE Buller likes nothing better than being told she's U.G.L.Y.

Leanne is taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation's 2012 U.G.L.Y. bartender of the year competition which kicked off on Saturday.

U.G.L.Y. stands for Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You! - and Leanne, who works at Charlies Hotel in Gympie, has these traits and is ready to prove it as she raises funds for the leukemia cause.

From now until September 3, Leanne has a few fundraising ideas in the pipeline including hosting a lunch to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Leanne hopes locals will support her fundraising plans.

She is encouraging other bartenders in the region to get on board with the scheme and have some fun while supporting a serious cause.

See Leanne at Charlies Hotel to find out what U.G.L.Y. plans she has in store for her friends and supporters.

U.G.L.Y TRUTH

  •  Last year, 95 Queensland bartenders signed up to make a difference to the lives of blood cancer patients, raising more than $190,000 in support of the Leukaemia Foundation's work.
  •  Funds raised will ensure the foundation can continue to keep its range of support services, including counselling and accommodation near treatment centres, free of charge for patients and their families.
