Year 7s off to a big start at Gympie State High
ABOUT 215 excited faces and a few nervous parents filled Hamilton Hall on Monday as Year 7 students started the next phase of their education at Gympie State High School.
Students and parents were welcomed by principal Anthony Lanskey before being settled into high school life by their form teachers.
Specialised School of Excellence Maths/Science students Lilly Wintle-Legge and Tahlia Patterson eagerly awaited their new timetables and the opportunity to meet their teachers and fellow classmates.
A school spokesman thanked all the parents and staff that supported the smooth transition of these students into high school.
"As a school we very much look forward to nurturing these young people over the coming years into independent and confident young men and women,” he said.
