Work continues at hockey field

WORK on Gympie’s new state-of-the-art hockey field is continuing after the synthetic surface was laid last month.

Volunteers and workers have been putting in a huge effort tidying up around the field with new fencing and seating now in place.

Gympie hockey president Ian Wenzel said the field was progressing well.

“The fence and retaining walls have been filled with concrete and the fence posts set into the wall this week,” he said.

Wenzel thanked Paul Collins, Ian Austin, Scott Mackay, Brad Adams and Greg McVicor for a job well done and invited all members to an AGM next Monday, November 22 at 6.15pm.

Wenzel said there was still a lot of work that needed to be done before the start of the season and urged everyone to attend.
