UPDATE: Murder accused due to appear in court next week

UPDATE: The husband of the woman found dead at Pacific Haven has been charged with her murder and is due to appear in court next week.

Nathan Peter Norman Greenfield, 34, didn't appear in person at the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday.

June Wallis, 32, was found dead about 6.15am on Sunday. Police have not released any further details about the circumstances surrounding her death.

Greenfield's lawyer Julie Gilfoyle asked Magistrate Graeme Tatnell for an adjournment for a week.

The murder accused is due to appear on March 30 at 9.30am.

Earlier, a police representative said the accused had been expected to appear in court on Monday.

EARLIER UPDATE: Detectives have charged a man with murder following the death of a 32-year-old woman on Sunday at Pacific Haven, near Howard.

A police media representative said a 34-year-old Pacific Haven man had been charged with murder and was expected to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday.

EARLIER: The Fraser Coast woman found dead in her Pacific Haven home is believed to have been June Wallis, the wife of a prominent Burrum Heads baker.

Police swarmed over the Pacific Haven Dr home she shared with her husband, Nathan Greenfield, on Sunday after her body was found, apparently by a relative, about 6.15am.

Police have said she died under suspicious circumstances but were tight-lipped on Sunday about circumstances surrounding the death.

Talking to the media outside the taped off home, Detective Inspector Nikki Colfs said a man was assisting police with their inquiries.

"Police are investigating a suspicious death of a female," she said.

"We do have a person at the moment who is assisting police with their inquiries."

The man they were speaking to was stopped by police in a vehicle south of Gympie about 9am on Sunday.

He was stopped after a chase by police who deployed stingers to blow out the tyres of the four-wheel drive he was travelling in.

The man had a young girl in the vehicle with him.

Neither the man nor the girl was hurt.

Back at the scene, police officers gathered evidence at the Pacific Haven Dr home.

Det Insp Colfs said scientific officers, scenes of crime officers and investigators were at the scene.

Ms Wallis was heavily involved with horses in the local area and friends have paid tribute to her.

"I find myself pretty heartbroken to hear of this horrible news that a lovely lady I know has sadly passed away, sending my prayers to her kids and family," one friend wrote on Facebook.

The couple are believed to have had two children, a boy and a girl.
