Winter season at an end

GYMPIE touch football's winter season came to a close last Friday and Saturday, after teams played it out in the finals.

President Malcolm Bunney said the finals event went exceptionally well and word around the fields was the atmosphere was excellent for the event.

"One lady who has played a lot of touch said it was the best finals she had ever been to," he said.

Bunney said even referees had commented on the players' positive game faces.

He said reinstalling the positive mood to Gympie touch was a focus.

Winners were awarded on the night and life members Michelle Tappin and Vince Greaney were honoured for their dedication to the club.
