Wildcard for Hewitt

TEN years after he won Wimbledon, Aussie veteran Lleyton Hewitt has been given a wildcard into both the singles and doubles at this year's tournament.

The world No 176 was also given a wildcard into this month's French Open where he was beaten in the first round by Blaz Kavkic 7-6 6-3 6-7 6-3.

Hewitt's Wimbledon preparation suffered a hiccup on Monday when he was beaten in the first round of the grass court tournament at Halle, Germany, by Ivo Karlovic.

Hewitt will play doubles at Wimbledon with countryman Chris Guccione.

Young Aussie stars Ashleigh Barty and Luke Saville have been given wildcards into the qualifying tournament which starts on June 18.
