Widgee gathers to pay Anzac respects
A MISTY morning heralded a brilliant day at Widgee, where hundreds of residents and visitors gathered at the Cenotaph to pay their respects and remember the thousands of service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice; and the brave Anzacs who may have lost their war but won world respect on the shores of Gallipoli.

Both services were well attended with many a tear shed as those attending remembered and gave thanks, each in their own personal sphere.

The Catafalque party led the March and added poignancy to both services; wreaths were laid, speeches were said and prayers were made for departed souls and, in these troubled times, for future generations.

Lest we forget.
