Wide Bay Cabinets in final

WIDE Bay Cabinets upset the minor premiers Victory College to advance straight to the grand final last week.

Cabinets defeated Victory College 11 games to eight.

Craig Whittaker, Phil Morton and Dave Lawless were Cabinets' winners.

Whittaker and Lachlan Smith had a see-sawing battle which went down to the wire, with Whittaker taking it 9-3, 5-9, 9-12, 5-9, 10-9.

Morton's battle with Ryan Gottke was no different to last week, only it was Morton getting it this time with a long game in the fifth.

Morton won 10-9, 8-10, 1-9, 9-2, 10-9.

Lawless and Dean Hogg had a good tough match, with Lawless taking it out in four, 9-5, 9-10, 9-7, 9-5.

Bill Cairns was Victory College's only winner.

Cairns was pushed to the limit before getting the better of Grant Best in five, 10-8, 6-9, 9-3, 7-9, 9-6.

Gold City Steering and Suspension had a solid win over Fishermans Haul, 11 games to three, which will see them battle it out tonight with Victory College.

Chris Kraak, Aedan Gottke, and Mark Wilcox were winners for Steering.

Kraak was in great form, and gave nothing to Marcel Delgado defeating him in three, 9-0, 9-5, 9-5.

Gottke was on fire and gave little chance to Bruce Pearce, also winning in straight, 9-3, 9-7, 9-7.

To finish off, captain Wilcox put the foot down to defeat Dennis Maher, also in straight, 9-6, 9-2, 9-5.

In the bottom half of the draw, Budget Steel defeated Gympie Graphics nine games to five.

Budget Steel winners were Bob Gottke, Bob Brook and Matt Robinson.

Gottke had the easiest win of the night due to forfeit.

Brook was too steady in the end, defeating Dave Hogan in four, 9-4, 8-10, 9-4, 9-2.

Robinson started slowly, but came home strongly to defeat Casey Ison in four, 1-9, 9-2, 9-4, 9-0.

Gary Elson was the sole winner for Graphics, defeating his son Peter in three, 9-4, 9-2, 9-5.

Shepherds Beta Store defeated River Dental nine games to seven, and will meet Budget Steel in tonight's Sox final.

Ralph Frankcom and Neil Hughes were winners for Shepherds. Frankcom defeated Jerome Smith in three, 9-5, 9-8, 9-6.

Hughes and Clayton Whincorp had an entertaining match, with Whincorp taking the first and Hughes storming home in the next three, 2-9, 9-5, 9-4, 9-1.

Order of play tonight will be 4, 3, 2, 1.
