Calling all singers

JOIN a choir and sing some heavenly harmonies. Andrew Emmet, former chorister at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, UK, directs Cooloola Voices A Cappella choir (voice only) in Gympie on Tuesday evenings. Cooloola Voices have been singing for about nine years and sing mostly original popular arrangements created by Andrew. If you would like to sing in this choir, email Andrew at or phone 5474 1498.

Country Music concert

THE Gympie country music club is holding its next concert at the Senior Citizens Centre in Mellor St, on Saturday, May 6 at 1pm. All the favourite artists will be performing as well as a few surprise entertainers. Members of the club look forward to seeing all their regular patrons there for the afternoon. Admission is$7 each which includes afternoon tea. Alf will be available with the bus - just give him a call on 5484 9158. The concert on March 18 was a huge success, the audience captivated by Alec Beckett and his wonderful style of entertainment. Also, the two Margies dressed up for the occasion to perform for the crowd. Profits from the concert were donated to the Cedar Pocket Hall Committee who also provided the excellent afternoon tea. Don't miss the May 6 concert - great raffles just in time for Mother's Day.
