A rushed month in the Gold City
WHAT a Rush this month has been in the Gold City.
Anyone who says there has been nothing to do in Gympie over the past four weeks needs their head read.
I have been to that many events mine is still spinning.
The Heart of Gold, 10x10 short plays, Gold Rush and the free concert in Nelson Reserve Sunday night.
The thing is I could have gone to a lot more if I had the time.
The Rush-themed month has been a massive success and a brilliant piece of marketing.
In the past too many events have tried to go it alone, but this year with the combined strength of collective events, under the Rush banner, everyone has prospered.
All the events I have been to have been very good, but I must say Sunday night's concert in Nelson Reserve was a cracker.
Organisers in the Gympie Regional Council should take a bow.
The concert was as professional as any outdoor event I had been to.
The sound, lighting and stage were spot on and everything ran like clockwork.
For anyone who didn't attend, you missed an awesome night and from what I hear council intends to put on something similar next year.
If they do, you need to book it in the diary, because it's something that shouldn't be missed.
