Maxwell Smart-style suit the latest technology for Heritage

THERE'S a touch of James Bond about Heritage Bank's latest project.

The Toowoomba bank has teamed up with Visa and an Australia tailor to create a suit which lets the wearer pay for goods with a wave of their sleeve.

The M.J Bale suit has a contactless payment chip and antenna fused into the sleeve, linked to an online Heritage Bank debit account, allowing the wearer to check the balance and top up their suit at any time.

Wearers can use the suit anywhere Visa payWave is accepted.

A prototype of the high-tech outfit is up for grabs in an online auction, with proceeds going to autism charity 4 ASD Kids.

Heritage CEO John Minz said the bank tried to embrace new and innovative technology.

"People live incredibly fast lives and by combining high-end fashion with cutting edge wearable technology, we are able to offer customers a new level of convenience.

"Forgetting your wallet will now be impossible."

The suit is safe to dry clean and the chip has the same security measures as a traditional contactless card, and can be cancelled if the suit is lost.
