Volunteer for Muster clean-up

SO, WHERE has the year gone? It seems like only yesterday the Muster office was being pulled apart in preparation for the flood, the contents of the office moved upstairs and the water in Mary St reached the front step - we were spared, we thought.

A visit to the Muster site a week later revealed an entirely different picture - the Amamoor Creek had broken its banks and sent a raging torrent through the site and across Main Stage. Standing there, can in hand, singing "Hey true blue, you would have been under six metres of water", John Williamson's bar stool was just high enough to keep his backside dry.

With the Windmill Bar wrapped around a gum tree, fences down, signage destroyed, storage containers flooded, bridges smashed, structures ripped from their footings, we had our work cut out for us. Luckily, we are a part of an amazing community of giving people. Our office received many calls from the community, our friends, punters and musicians alike wanting to come and lend a hand and be a part of the clean-up efforts.

Bill Fallon and his crew, along with Craig Campbell and his equipment, banded together with the Apex Club of Gympie on April 20, to start the massive clean-up.

This Saturday, Apex is hosting somewhat of a celebration - a camp-over in true Muster tradition. A few drinks, a barbecue and a few surprises from some artists and bands that wanted to pitch in and lift the community spirit.

Please phone the office on 5482 2099 or email Meeki@muster.com.au. Otherwise, meet us on site at our iconic Main Stage, Amamoor Creek State Forest, 9am this Saturday!

This is your invitation to come and lend a hand and be a part the Muster tradition of friendship, community and fellowship, the very essence of the largest community event in Gympie. Bring your work boots and gloves and a guitar, if you so feel inclined - you never know who you might be singing with on Saturday night.
