THIS is the nuclear option.

This is the option you drag out when your husband is checking the emails on his laptop on the couch while you're trying to serve dinner.

The red button you push when your children are ensnared by the warm glow of technology when they should be setting the damn table.

And it looks like a pepper grinder.

Dolmio -- yes that Dolmio -- have invented the "Pepper Hacker" that sends out an electro-magnetic pulse, temporarily killing all nearby electronics.

The television, the mobile phones, tablets and laptops go dead.

They also secretly filmed it in action, after handing out a few to "frustrated mothers".

Ad creator Paul Nagy from Clemenger BBDO Sydney told Mumbrella:

"One turn of the grinder and you don't just get a sprinkle of pepper - you get 30 minutes of tech-free, uninterrupted family time - whether they like it or not.

"Having used it at home for a couple of weeks now, I can whole-heartedly say it is one of the greatest things I've ever been a part of creating. Dinnertime is fun again."

While not available for purchase, for now, let's hope this incredible power doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
