BELOVED Warwick man John "Jack" Alldridge has been identified as the man who was hit and killed on a Warwick street last night.
Police reported the 75-year-old was crossing the highway at Wood and Wantley Sts when he was struck by a four-wheel drive.
Joe Coorey, a close friend of Mr Alldridge said the death of his mate came as a real shock.
"He was just a good, lovely man," he said.
"We went to school together at St Mary's, and I've known him my whole life."
Mr Alldridge worked on the rail and was a regular to the Warwick Pig and Calf sale.
"He was very kind to people, and good to his family," he said.
"Nothing was too much for him; he'd always help people."
