
URGENT STORM UPDATE: Here it comes
FROM Gympie to Coolangatta, severe and dangerous thunderstorms are headed our way, bringing flooding rain, 3cm hail and winds already gusting over 100kmh.
Cooloola Coast residents may just escape the worst of it, but are still in line for severe storms as massive storm cells move east.

They are already tearing through western areas and a 106kmh sind gust was detected at Toowoomga early this afternoon.

Severe storms have been detected near from near Brisbane CBD to Kilcoy and Kingaroy and are currently expected to hit Noosa-Gympie hinterland areas within 30 minutes.
"Damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely,” theBureauy of Meteorology is warning.

Golf ball sized hail has been reported at Aspley as the huge mass of turbulence moves our way.
Gympie and Noosa hinterland areas can expect severe and dangerous weather from about 4.05pm.The same belt of storms has already dropped 56mm of rain at Bundamba, near Ipswich, in one half-hour period.
