UK expecting major snow cover

MORE snow is predicted for the United Kingdom, forcing London's major airport to cut its flight schedule by one-fifth.

The heavy blanketing of white in Northern Ireland, Scotland and parts of England have also prompted the country's weather office to warn of dangers posed by ice.

Football matches have been cancelled and some Irish homes left without power over the weekend.

Heavier snowfalls are predicted to develop for parts of south-east England.
