Two people injured, pets die in house fire
A DOG and a show parrot have died after a fire ravaged a house in Brisbane's north overnight.
The animals had been in the Nevin St, Aspley home when a fire broke out around 11.45pm, engulfing the front part of the split level tin house.
The home was well alight when Queensland Fire and Emergency Services attended.
Bringing the fire quickly under control, firefighters put out the blaze by 12.11am.
Two people were injured, one suffering lacerations.
A dog and a show parrot has died. A number of other competition parrots who were in the back of the house survived.
