Two more weeks for Slater

STORM coach Craig Bellamy will not rush Billy Slater back into the team, suggesting the star fullback will need another two weeks to recover from the knee injury he suffered in Origin II.

Slater started running again last week, but ruled himself out of last night's Origin decider.

"I think four to six weeks (on the sidelines) is pretty accurate," Bellamy said yesterday. "He's still a little way away, but not too far."

Of more concern to Bellamy is the health of centre Will Chambers, who was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder last month.

Bellamy is hopeful the star centre will just get back onto the field this season.

"It's a bit of time now making sure the levels in his blood stay balanced for the next little period of time," he said. "We're still hoping he'll play at some stage this year ... but his health's the most important thing."

The Storm take on the Raiders this Saturday night at AAMI Park, Bellamy saying he would take it "game by game" on whether he would rest his Origin representatives.
