Two armed robbers strike within 30 mins of each other

POLICE are hunting for potentially two men after a bottle shop and corner store in neighbouring suburbs were struck within half an hour of each other.

At 7.15pm on Wednesday, a man threatened a convenience store worker on Erbert Pde in Lawton on Brisbane's north with a knife and demanded cash.

After the armed robber and the staffer became involved in a fight, the would-be robber fled.

He is described as being in his early 20s, 155cm tall, medium build and wearing a grey hoodie.

The staff member was not physically hurt.

Police are asking for anyone who has camera footage - whether CCTV and dashboard camera - and was on Erbert Pde around 7.30pm.

Just 30 minutes later, police say a man entered a bottle shop on Gympie Rd in Bald Hills - about 8km from the first incident - and demanded cash.

This man is described as 170cm tall, wearing a black hoodie.

The staff member was not physically hurt.

Police have not said whether they believe the two incidents to be related.

Police are calling for anyone with camera footage from CCTV or dashboard cameras, and were on Gympie Rd, Griffiths or Fairway streets in Bald Hills between 7.30pm and 8pm.
