The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Tamborine man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road was kept closed throughout the morning, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman urging motorists to avoid the area.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
