Trespassing into homes proves thirsty work

A THIRSTY trespasser snuck into four different Bundamba properties in search of his friend and a drink of water.

Timothy Lee Wilson was stopped by police after he was seen lurking about in people's yards at night.

Concerned residents had informed police of the trespassing and PolAir was called in to track Wilson's movements.

After he was caught, the 28-year-old told police he had been searching for his mate and went into one of the yards to get some water from a tap.

He was taken to the watchhouse and charged with four counts of trespassing.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court this week, Wilson pleaded guilty to the offences.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Trent Voigt said Wilson had been stopped by officers about 11.10pm on May 7.

Defence lawyer Alexis Oxley said Wilson had been drinking the night of the incident and could not recall trespassing onto anyone's property.

Ms Oxley added that her client had no criminal history.

Wilson was fined $250 and no convictions were recorded.
