Trauma workshop held tomorrow

A WORKSHOP to encourage community understanding of the complex issues surrounding trauma and prevention, will be held tomorrow.

The Responding to Trauma workshop, run by StandBy and Sunshine Coast Division of General Practice – FOCUS – has been designed to increase understanding of trauma, crisis responses and reactions to loss and grief and to improve understanding of vicarious trauma, self care and personal well being.

United Synergies’ StandBy national co-ordinator Jill Fisher said the workshop was for professional caregivers including health care providers, community workers, volunteers, human resource managers, health, welfare and education professionals, youth service providers, clergy, and people responding to family and friends affected by traumatic loss and crisis events.

The workshop is from 1-4pm at TRACCS, 44 Duke Street.
