Train wreckage link

TWO Gympie men were held in custody overnight on Wednesday and questioned yesterday morning after allegedly breaking into a train at the Mary Valley Heritage Railway.

A police spokesperson said the men aged 21 and 19 we accused of smashing windows one a train carriage and drinking inside the carriage about 11.15pm.

They were picked up by police about an hour later on the corner of Mt Pleasant and Crown roads after being involved in a disturbance. Police then found property on them that is believed to have been stolen from a motor vehicle broken into earlier in the night.

Some property found on them was also matched to more found at the MVHR. One man was charged with breaching bail and the other with public nuisance while police investigated the break-ins further.
