Entire Queensland country town sold for just $750,000

ALLIES Creek, a town 60km south of Mundubbera which was on the market for $750,000, has been placed under contract.

The town, near Monogorilby, has 16 houses, a town hall and even a saw mill.

Current owner Natali Williams said she originally bought the town by accident five years ago.

"My husband and I came out here to buy machinery at auction and then bought the town," Mrs Williams said.

"We didn't quite know what to do with it."

Mrs Williams and her husband Lyle then planned to turn it into a caravan park.

Those plans were brought to a halt last October when Lyle died.

"It's just too much to handle without my husband," Mrs Williams said.

"I want to be close to my family now."

She said the town was a great place to live and she loved the scenery.

"It's away from everything," Mrs Williams said."Away from all the hassle."

Around half of the towns 16 houses are currently tenanted.

"It's a good experience living out here in the middle of nowhere," Mrs Williams said.

"Though you can access the internet out here and every house has a phone line.

"I'm going to miss it and so is my son."

Sutton Nationwide Realty agent Julie Sutton said she anticipated the contract would be finalised within the next seven days.

"Anything is possible with what they could do with it," Ms Sutton said.

"It could be used for a music festival situation, caravan camping park, or just purely as a rental residence."

"Anything is possible."

Ms Sutton said if the contract did not go through, the property would be up for grabs again.
