Ziger belts out a tune at muster
PORT Arlington couple Malcolm and Alison Lindsay found out about Gympie's Pre Muster Party when they picked up a copy of the Cooloola Advertiser during a recent visit to Tin Can Bay.
It did not take long for the couple to factor in a trip to Gympie for the party ahead of their long trip back to Victoria.
"We are enjoying ourselves today," Mr Lindsay said.
Moments earlier, The Gympie Times' meet and greet competition was drawn, with Stephanie Patience, Monica Speed and Cameron Walker announced winners.
The three have won meet and greets at the Muster, officially underway today, with Ms Patience to rub shoulders with Sheppard, Ms Speed with Adam Brand and Mr Walker with Gympie's own Caitlyn Shadbolt.
Also enjoying a winning feeling yesterday was Tania Hickmott and Steve Byrne of ICUC Spectacles and Repairs.
The business won the trophy for the Gympie Town Centre Pre Muster Party best decorated business.
At the heart of the business' success was dog Ziger who sported a Muster-themed jacked, complete with toy cowboy, and belted out his own Muster tune for shoppers on command.
Mary St burst at the seams yesterday, delighting Mary St business owner Tony Goodman.
"The turnout to today is excellent to see," he said.
Gympie Mayor Mick Curran echoed Mr Goodman's sentiments, looking forward to kicking up the dust himself at the Muster this weekend.
