Hauritz back to basics

NATHAN Hauritz continued along the long road back from his shoulder reconstruction on the weekend when he lined up for Randwick-Petersham in a grade cricket match in Sydney.

The former Hervey Bay junior cricketer has endured one of the hardest years of his career this year after being left out of the Ashes side that was defeated by England at the beginning of the year and then injuring his shoulder, which ruled him out of the Cricket World Cup.

He will no doubt be hoping his latest comeback from the injury will be successful, with the shoulder proving problematic since he underwent surgery.

Hauritz made a comeback earlier in the year during New South Wale's Champions League campaign in September but it was clear his shoulder had not recovered.

Also playing for Randwick-Petersham was Hauritz's one-time Ashes rival in the field of spin, Monty Panesar.
