Top riders saddle up

KILKIVAN got a look at the state's top endurance riders over July 6, 7 and 8 when they gathered for the Queensland Endurance Championships.

The event was held by the Kilkivan Endurance Riders Club and hosted the 160km, 120km and 80km rides.

The event provided riders with an early practice on the course proposed for the 2013 Tom Quilty event, which will be held on the same 160km trail.

Tying for first place for the event in the five-leg 160km Heavyweight division were Sara Kelly and Tami Parnell, both on 13:09.27.

Josias Willemse took out the 160km Middleweight division, finishing on 9:07.33, Amanda Phillips topped the 160km lightweights, with 11:55.35 and Jade Vergis 160km was first out of the juniors on 11:04.20.
