Chopper used to track down boy, 14, who stole car
A DRAYTON boy is one of three youths charged after he allegedly stole a car and drove dangerously on the Warrego Highway.
Police charged the 14-year-old and his 12-year-old and 15-year-old co-offenders yesterday after the incident involving a stolen car.
Police said about 3.20pm yesterday the car, which had been stolen from a house in Sunnybank about 10.30am, was seen driving on the Logan Motorway.
Police tracked the vehicle with the help of PolAir and officers successfully deployed tyre deflation devices on Redbank Plains Rd at New Chum, near Ipswich.
The car was tracked to the Cunningham Highway where it stopped and the three boys fled on foot into nearby bushland.
Officers took all three into custody a short time later.
The Drayton boy was charged with two counts of failing to stop at the scene and one count each of dangerous operation of motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and obstruct police.
The 12 and 15-year-old boys were charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.
