Titans coach stands by medical team

GOLD Coast Titans coach Neil Henry says the club will defend its medical team after being served a breach notice over concussion protocols by the NRL.

The Titans were fined $150,000 over three head-knock incidents in their win over the Parramatta Eels on the weekend.

Kane Elgey, Joe Greenwood and Ryan Simpkins all had bangs to the head in the game, with the club questioned and later served with the breach notice because of how those incidents were dealt with.

Henry said the club would respond to the notice in the coming days, adding: "I will say that I'm very confident in the ability of our medical team to get decisions right around player welfare."
