Tim’s story a warning to us all

IT TAKES a lot of guts to come out and tell your family you are addicted to drugs.

It takes a lot more guts to tell the whole community.

Yesterday, Tim Matthews showed he had plenty of intestinal fortitude, sharing his harrowing account of what it is like to be an ice addict.

Tim has been as low as anyone can go but by sharing his story he has opened up a world not many of us have seen.

To me it's a story parents should get their kids to read.

It shows them the real life consequences of heavy drug use and how easy it is to become dependant on a substance.

Tim's message is a positive: it warns people away from a lifestyle that will break up friendships and families and could quite possibly end in death.

He said if his story could help just one person it would be worth it.

I'm sure it will help many.
