COULD a Gympie father be Queensland's best dad?
Queensland Father of the Year 2016 nominations are open until Friday July 15 for Queenslanders to recommend a praiseworthy dad, whether it's your dad, someone else's, or an incredible father-figure from the region.
Scripture Union's Queensland Father of the Year competition identifies and honours outstanding fathers for their exceptional commitment to raising their children or for their exemplary contribution to the development of children in the community.

The 2016 Queensland Father of the Year will win 5 nights accommodation at Sea World Resort and Water Park along with unlimited entry to Movie World, Seaworld and Wet'n'Wild for the whole family.
All nominations in the competition also go into the draw to win an Applie iPad Mini.
Throughout the state, six regional winners are selected from those nominated and the State Winner is announced at the Queensland Father of the Year Award Ceremony on August 31.
Nominations close on July 15 and can be submitted online at qldfatheroftheyear.org.au, or by post with the downloadable form available from the website.
