Tiger spotted on Coffs Harbour Regional Airport runway

A SURE sign Tiger Airways flights to and from Coffs Harbour are approaching quickly was evident at the airport this afternoon.

Sitting on the tarmac was a Tiger Airways A320 making a practice run ahead of the first official flight carrying passengers takes off next week.

Coffs Harbour Regional Airport manager Dennis Martin said today's testing flight was simply an exercise to ensure things run smoothly when operations begin.

"It's just to make sure everything is ready for the first flight on February 15," Mr Martin said.

Monday's exercise was about testing the airport's infrastructure and the ground handling facilities.

It also allowed the pilots flying the plane to familiarise themselves with the approach to Coffs Harbour.
