Tiahleigh Palmer: Wife, son to testify against foster father

LATEST: Julene Thorburn and her son Josh are expected to testify against their husband and father, Rick Thorburn who is charged with the murder of Tiahleigh Palmer.

Their lawyer, Jason Jacobsen said the pair intended to plead guilty to one count each of perjury.

"Albeit late, they are now giving their complete co-operation to the police investigation, and what's more is that they now have taken the step of agreeing to be prosecution witnesses and will give evidence about everything they know," he said.

UPDATE: Cyndi Palmer has addressed the media saying the Department of Child Safety are "kidding themselves" if they think the foster care system does not need fixing.

Cyndi's 12-year-old daughter Tiahleigh was murdered while in foster care last year.

This morning, her foster mother Julene Thorburn and her son Josh, appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court charged with perjury in relation to the case.

Their cases were adjourned until November 21.

Foster father Richard Thorburn has been charged with the Marsden schoolgirls murder.

His 19-year-old son Trent Thorburn has been charged with incest.
