Thieves make off with cash after knife threats

THREE thieves have escaped with a sum of cash after an armed robbery at Surfers Paradise last night.

Police say the three men entered a food store on Beach Road just after 7:30pm.

One of the men threatened a male employee saying he had a knife and demanded money.

The employee has complied.

The men then fled on foot towards Peninsula Drive.

The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

Police are investigating.
