Thieves steal family’s trampoline
THE giant trampoline the five brothers and sisters of the Griffin family share was one of their greatest joys until Thursday night, when somehow, somebody made off with it while they all slept.
At 4.5m across, stealing it and transporting it out of the front yard of the Griffin's home at 32 Tucker St would not have been an easy job.
And it would likely have taken several people.
Mum Rosina said yesterday the family had enjoyed a long and exhausting Anzac Day, attending the Dawn Service and Normanby Hill service before marching in the Mary St parade.
When the children, aged 8-13, arrived home in the afternoon, they played on the trampoline with their pet dog for a while in the shade of several trees in the front yard.
The family retired about 9.30pm and sometime between then and 6am, the trampoline was taken.
Yesterday, they had written their own sign and posted it on the wheelie bin in front of their house: Please Return Our Trampoline (No Questions Asked).
Anybody who may have seen anyone transporting a trampoline overnight on Thursday night, or who saw any suspicious behaviour in or near Tucker St, in the heart of Gympie, is asked to contact Gympie police on 5480 1111 or phone Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
