Theft doesn't find gold
A THEFT at Gympie Eldorado Mining on January 11, resulted in a Gympie man appearing in Gympie Magistrates Court.
Dylan Philip Dallas Scheib, 21, of Tucker St, pleaded guilty to one count of entering premises with intent to commit and indictable offence and two counts of unlawful entry with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The court heard a window of the Noosa Rd business was smashed, then the office ransacked and property stolen.
In committing the offences, Scheib breached an existing good behaviour bond, and had to pay the $600 recognisance that came with the bond.
That $600 was converted to 60 hours community service that Scheib must complete.
For the January offences, Scheib was placed on 12 months probation and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
In a separate incident, Cody Lee Broad, 21, of Flynn Rd, Gympie, pleaded guilty in court on Monday to one charge of stealing from Blockbuster Video on October 19, last year.
Broad was placed on a nine-month intensive correction order and also ordered to pay $30 in restitution.
An existing suspended sentence was extended to April 12, 2013.
