Thank you for 'Liking' us - all 16,000 of you

THE Gympie Times Facebook page hit 16,000 Likes about 9am today.

It was another great milestone for this daily newspaper as we continue to build and thrive in the digital space.

At the same time, for the fifth year in a row, The Gympie Times has been named a finalist for Community Daily Newspaper of the Year at the annual Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association (PANPA) awards. Our chief photographer Renee Albrecht is also a finalist in the News photography category.

This is a big deal and great testimony to the hard word, professionalism and dedication of The Gympie Times team. It is also a great testimony to the loyalty of our readers, both in print and online, and for that we thank each and every one of you.

The GT prides itself on a strong and true connection to the community, and is completely committed to keeping the region informed, involved and entertained.

Whatever we are doing - and I know not everybody agrees with everything we do all of the time - it is working.

The most recent data analysis of our website shows a 40% growth in page views since mid-2016 and more than 51% growth in unique visitors (online readers) - a growth that shows no sign of slowing.

So, thank you for "Liking” us. You can follow The Gympie Times on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thegympietimes/
