Tewantin pilot wins The Biggest Loser: Transformed

LYNTON Della Rosa's dedication has earned him $100,000.

The Tewantin pilot was today crowned the winner of The Biggest Loser: Transformed on Studio 10, which hosted the show's grand final, after winning the publicly voted prize.

"I'm so overwhelmed; I am shaking," he told Studio 10's Sarah Harris.

His girlfriend, who he has been inspired to lose 20kg, added: "It will be life changing. Lynton will be able to advance his career by five more years. It means so much to us."

The threat of failing his annual medical exam inspired Lynton, who works as a flight instructor at Gympie Airport, to apply for the show.

Lynton's trainer Shannan Ponton was full of praise for his dedication to his training, even after the reality show was relegated to a 1pm timeslot because of falling ratings.

"He told me a story once that he didn't have enough money to find rental accommodation and Lynton was sleeping at the airport to continue to work for his career," Shannan said.

"I can't imagine the sacrifices you've made along the way. I know you've been getting up at 4am to ride your bike to work, training before work, working and coming home and doing more. Mate you definitely should be proud of what you've done."

Fellow Coast resident Nikki Henderson was also a contender for the TBL crown, showing off her stunning weightloss in today's grand final:
