Child sex abuse survivors on way to Rome to meet Pell

TEN sex assault survivors started their journey from Melbourne to Rome yesterday to see Cardinal George Pell face the child abuse royal commission.

They are travelling with counsellors and a doctor after crowd funding raised $200,000 to get them there.

Cardinal Pell says a heart condition is stopping him returning to face the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

"We really want to hear the truth about what happened and it's about time we saw some action," said one victim.
