Gympie Telstra store heralds NBN

GYMPIE'S Telstra set up shop in Widgee earlier this week, advising locals about the new, fast NBN service that has finally arrived on their doorsteps.

While some areas are still a bit patchy, parts of Widgee are receiving "really fast" internet service and this will improve once all towers are in full operation.

Mobile reception is due to follow with Telstra's new tower installation to be completed in the near future, as part of the Federal Government's Black Spot program.

Locals were keen to discuss their options, connecting to the new NBN and mobile coverage, with Telstra's Paige Graham.

Resident Anna Pukallus had long been campaigning for improved communication services in the area and was happy to hear Widgee was soon to emerge from the Dark Ages.

Visitors to the district will also benefit, with another black spot on the highway cleared for reception.

For information on the NBN, or any other inquiries, contact Ms Graham at Telstra Gympie on 5482 1755.
