Teenage boys accused of violent Toowoomba robbery

BREAKING: Three boys are assisting police with their inquiries after an incident where a woman was allegedly assaulted at Kearneys Spring last night.

About 5pm a 44-year-old woman was confronted by three boys when she was getting out of her car in the shopping centre carpark on Ruthven St.

It will be alleged they tried to steal her handbag and mobile phone before one of them punched her in the face and the trio ran away empty-handed.

The woman sustained facial injuries during the incident.

Two 13-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy are currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations are continuing and detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or suspicious behaviour in the area last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
