Teen arrested after elderly woman robbed in her home

POLICE have arrested a teenage boy after an elderly woman was robbed and threatened in her home in North Ipswich on July 30.

At around 7.15am, the youth allegedly climbed through a window at a Holdsworth Road address and started going through cupboards in the house.

Police will further allege that he entered a bedroom where an 85-year-old woman was asleep. He woke her, and demanded cash, while holding a knife in his hand.

The woman wasn't physically injured during the incident.

A 15-year-old North Ipswich boy has been charged with break and enter, and armed robbery. He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
