Tanker crash

A MAN, believed to be from the Gympie region, suffered multiple injuries on Wednesday when his double tanker laden with molasses left the Oakey–Cooyar Road.

The tanker appeared to have collided with trees about 12.30pm before coming to rest on its side after coming down a slight hill along the winding road.

Fire and rescue officers freed the driver, 44, who was entrapped in the cab of the vehicle.

The patient suffered multi trauma with arm and leg fractures and was airlifted by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition.
