Shop local to support our region

NOW more than ever local businesses need to unite together to promote the benefits of shopping locally in the Gympie region.

Peter Allan's Action Auto Group is a local dealership that focuses on offering customers the best price for quality products and services.

The Group has joined The Gympie Times to encourage residents to shop locally and discover the benefits of dealing with the people who work and live locally in our community.

Mr Allan urged all Gympie residents to stop and think before shopping online or going out of town.

He agreed shopping around was necessary to save money, but encouraged people to always return to the local retailer to give them a chance to match it for a sale.

With more and more people shopping online to save money, Mr Allan says shopping locally could in fact save more money long-term by providing clients with the backup service and advice that ensures customer satisfaction.

The Action Auto Group's support of the local economy includes the training of five school-based apprentices each year - a cost worn by the company for the ultimate purpose of boosting the skills base.

"If everybody made a point of always shopping local, this town would be booming," Mr Allan said.

"I think it's important to shop around but customers should always return to the local business and offer them the opportunity to match the best price. Every retail business would appreciate the opportunity to consider it."

When customers make a purchase with local businesses like Peter Allan's Action Auto Group, there are perks that make it beneficial, including discounts on all parts and services.
