Support quest for gold

A MOTHER'S Day variety concert at Theebine Hotel tomorrow is in aid of Karen Thomsen and her quest for gold at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood.

The Gympie Times incorrectly publicised the event as featuring The Voice contestant Brett Clarke, but Mr Clarke will be performing at Theebine Hotel on June 17.

An amazing line-up of local talent is expected to entertain and impress throughout the day from midday.

One of Australia's leading bush poets Gary Fogarty has joined the local star-studded list of performers supporting Thomsen.

Caitlyn Shadbolt and Aiming High will be joined by Branchline the Band, Noel Simonsen, Margaret Walsh Bye, Ashleigh Casey, and members of the Australian Institute of Country Music.

Prizes worth more than $1500 will be up for grabs, including a Kayne guitar and Neutrimetics basket worth $300.

With 120 guests already booked, this Mother's Day event is set to be a blast.

Tickets are $15 and all moneys raised goes towards to Thomsen's quest for gold at the world championships.
