WOOLWORTHS has recalled Halloween cups sold in its stores amid health fears.

The Halloween Flashing Tumbler (green and orange) and Halloween Flashing Goblet (clear) (Article numbers 478663 and 478617) sold in Woolworths and Safeway stores from October 3 to 27 October 2016 have been recalled.

The battery cover can be opened without the use of a tool, allowing young children access to the button cell batteries inside.

This will cause serious injury if ingested by young children.

Customers should immediately cease using the products and return it to any Woolworths or Safeway supermarkets for a full refund.

It comes just after the company last week issued a national recall on one of its Halloween toys after it found they posed a dangerous risk to children.

The product, a Halloween LED Spinning Wand, comes with a Halloween Ghost and Pumpkin head.

It has been sold in Woolworths and Safeway supermarkets nationally from September 28 until October 18.

Customers can phone a toll-free customer service number for more information 1800 103 515.
